Somnath Jyotirlinga Temple is believed to be the first among the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines of Lord Shiva. The Somnath Temple is located in Prabhas Patan near Junagadh in Saurashtra on the western coast of Gujarat. The Triveni Maha Sangam confluence of three rivers - Kapila, Hiran, and Saraswati- is a stone's throw away from this pious temple.
The temple has a tragic history, it is said that the temple was looted and destroyed seventeen times by rulers like Mahmud Ghazni, Alauddin Khilji, and Aurangzeb.
The construction of this temple is in the Chalukya style of architecture the temple's impressive architecture holds elaborate carvings, silver doors, an important Nandi idol, and the central Shiva linga. Somnath temple is now a great masterpiece of the Chalukya style of architecture. ITINERARY-:
DAY 1: Ahmedabad To Dwarka
Arrival at Ahmedabad station/airport and drive to Dwarka, Enroot visit Jamnagar Lakhota lake, Lakhota museum& Bala Hanuman temple, evening reach Dwarka. Overnight stay at hotel.
DAY 2: Dwarka
Next day morning after refreshment and breakfast, we shall visit places like ,Dwarikadhish Temple, Bet Dwarka, Nageshwar Temple, Gopi Talav, Rukshmani Temple, Gomti Ghat, local sightseeing. Night halt in Dwarka.
DAY 3: Dwarka- Somnath
Morning after breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Somnath, enroot visit Porbandar , Kirti Temple (Mahatma Gandhi’s Birth Place), Sudama temple. Later depart for Somnath. Later visit the historical temple of Somnath or “The Eternal shrine”. Also we shall visit Bhalka Tirth, Triveni Ghat, Gita Mandir etc. Night halt in Somnath.
DAY 4: Somnath - Ahamdabad
After breakfast proceed to Ahmedabad. Enroute visit Jalaram Temple at Virpur. Also visit Swaminarya temple, Navlakha Palace and Vintage Car museum at Gondal. Continued towards Ahmadabad. Arrive at the Ahmadabad. Drop at Ahmedabad Railway station / Airport for your onward destination.
