Amarnath cave is a Hindu shrine located in Jammu and Kashmir, India. The cave is situated at an altitude of 3,888 m, about 141 km from Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir and reached through Pahalgam town. Among many historical monuments in India, this is considered as the holiest among Hindus, and the cave is bounded by snowy mountains. It is covered with the snow all the days of the year and only for a little period in summer is open for pilgrims.
